Biography

საქართველოს პირველი პრეზიდენტის, ზვიად გამსახურდიას შვილი და ქართველი კლასიკოსის კონსტანტინე გამსახურდიას შვილიშვილი.

დაამთავრა თბილისის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის აღმოსავლეთმცოდნეობის ფაკულტეტი 1983 წელს, ასპირანტურა 1986 წელს.

1986-1992წწ. იყო საქართველოს მეცნიერებათა აკადემიის გიორგი წერეთლის სახელობის აღმოსავლეთმცოდნეობის ინსტიტუტის მეცნიერ თანამშრომელი;

1992-2005წწ. ემიგრაცია შვეიცარიაში, ოფიციალური თარჯიმანი და ევრაზიის ექსპერტი შვეიცარიის მიგრაციის ფედერალურ უწყებაში; 

1997-2004წწ. შვეიცარიის ლტოლვილთა ფედერალური სამსახურის ექსპერტი;

2006-2019წწ. პოლიტიკური მოძრაობა "თავისუფლების" თავმჯდომარე; 2007 წელს გაერთიანებული ოპოზიციის ლიდერი;

2009-2011წწ. საქართველს მე-7 მოწვევის პარლამენტის წევრი, საარჩევნო ბლოკი: გაერთიანებული ოპოზიცია (ეროვნული საბჭო, მემარჯვენეები), საარჩევნო ფორმა: პარტიული სიით; საქართველოს პირველი პრეზიდენტის, ზვიად გამსახურდიას გარდაცვალებასთან დაკავშირებული საკითხების შემსწავლელი დროებითი კომისიის თავჯდომარე; 

2011-2013წწ. საქართველოს საგანგებო დავალებათა ელჩი შვეიცარიის კონფედერაციაში;

2015-2019წწ. მოწვეული პროფესორი ქართულ-ამერიკულ უნივერსიტეტში;

2019-2023წწ. საქართველოს საგანგებო და სრულუფლებიანი დესპანი გერმანიის ფედერაციულ რესპუბლიკაში;

2024 წლის იანვარში დაინიშნა საქართველოს პარლამენტის ეროვნული ბიბლიოთეკის გენერალურ დირექტორად.

კონსტანტინე გამსახურდია არის სტატიების, წიგნებისა და ფილმის ავტორი, ისტორიის მეცნიერებათა დოქტორი, ასოცირებული პროფესორი.

სადისერტაციო თემა - "ადრექრისტიანული ქართლის კულტურები III-V ს-ში", მინიჭებული აქვს მაგისტრის ხარისხი.

Konstantine Z. Gamsakhurdia was born on June 24,1961 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In the family of the first president of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia. He is the grandson of a Georgian writer and public figure Konstantine Gamsakhurdia.

In 1983 graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Tbilisi State University, Major in Iranian studies. 1986 postgraduate studies.

1986-1992 he was a scientist-employee at Giorgi Tsereteli Institute of Oriental Studies of the Georgian Academy of Sciences;

1992-2005 emigrated to Switzerland, worked as an official translator and an expert in Eurasian studies at the Swiss Federal Office for Migration (FOM);

1997-2004 Expert at the Swiss Federal Refugee Service;

2006-2019 Chairman of the political movement "Tavisupleba" (freedom); Leader of the United Opposition (2007);

2009-2011 Member of the Parliament of the 7th convocation of Georgia, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament temporary commission studying the circumstances of the death of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, the first President of independent Georgia;

2011-2013 Ambassador at Large of Georgia to the Confederation of Switzerland; 2015-2019 Visiting professor at the Georgian-American University;

2019-2023 Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Georgia to the Federal Republic of Germany.

In January 2024, he was appointed as the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.

Konstantine Z. Gamsakhurdia is an author of books, articles, and films, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor.

Dissertation topic - "Pre-Christian Cultures of Kartli in the III-V centuries", he was awarded PhD.
