დაამთავრა თბილისის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტის იურიდიული ფაკულტეტი 1979 წელს; 1982 წელს ეკონომიკისა და სამართლის ინსტიტუტის ასპირანტურა.

1982-1988წწ. მუშაობდა 26 კომისრის რაიონის მოსამართლედ; 1988-1989წწ. იუსტიციის სამინისტრო; 1989-1990წწ. გარდაბნის რაიონის სასამართლოს თავმჯდომარე.
