The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

The project aims at publishing the biographies of outstanding Georgians. We hope that whole Georgia will be involved in filling this unique dictionary.

ბაკურ I იყო მატიანე "მოქცევაი ქართლისაის" მიხედვით ქართლის(იბერიის) 23-ე მეფე, რომელსაც ტახტი ეკავა მეფე ვაჩეს შემდეგ. "ქართლის ცხოვრება" ბაკურ I-ს ქართლის 21-ე მეფედ და მეფე ვაჩეს შვილად წარმოგვიდგენს. როგორც ჩანს, ბაკურ I მეფობდა III საუკუნის დამლევს.
