The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

Biography

დავით აბაშიძე იყო იმერეთის სამეფოს პოლიტიკური მოღვაწე XVIII საუკუნის II ნახევარში. სოლომონ I-ის სახლთუხუცესი, მაქსიმე კათალიკოსის ძმა. 1778 წელს მეთაურობდა სოლომონ I-ის წინააღმდეგ მოწყობილ თავადთა შეთქმულებას. აჯანყების ჩახშობის შემდეგ სოლომონმა თანამდებობიდან გადააყენა, ყმა-მამული ჩამოართვა და იმერეთიდან გააძევა. დავით აბაშიძემ ახალციხის საფაშოს შეაფარა თავი.
