The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

The project aims at publishing the biographies of outstanding Georgians. We hope that whole Georgia will be involved in filling this unique dictionary.

Biography

1772–1801წწ. იყო თბილისის ქეთხუდა (დიდი ვაჭარი, პირველი მოქალაქე); შემდეგ ქალაქის ნაცვალი, ვაჭარი. ფლობდა გვარჯილისა და თოფის წამლის "ქარხანას", რომელიც შემდეგ ერეკლე II–მ ჩამოართვა სათანადო ანაზღაურებით და სამეფო თოფხანასთან გააერთიანა. თაყუაშვილი მეფის სანქციით ეწეოდა სავაჭრო–ფინანსურ ოპერაციებს, მევახშეობას. კრედიტორთა შორის იყო მეფის ოჯახიც. ქალაქის მოსახლეობა მას მტაცებელს უწოდებდა.
