The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

The project aims at publishing the biographies of outstanding Georgians. We hope that whole Georgia will be involved in filling this unique dictionary.

Biography

გურიის მთავარი 1512-1534 წლებში, გიორგი I გურიელის ძე. 1520 წელს დაამარცხა ქართლის მეფე დავით X და ხელი შეუწყო კახეთში ლევანის გამეფებას. 1533 წელს მამია III დადიანთან ერთად ჯიქეთზე გაილაშქრა; მოკავშირეები დამარცხდნენ. ამ ბრძოლაში დაიღუპა მამია I გურიელის ვაჟი გიორგი, ხოლო მთავარი, მისი ძმები და ეპისკოპოსები ტყვედ ჩავარდნენ და თავი გამოისყიდეს.
