The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

The project aims at publishing the biographies of outstanding Georgians. We hope that whole Georgia will be involved in filling this unique dictionary.

Biography

მეფე დავით X-ის მეუღლე, ლუარსაბ I-ის დედა. 1554 წელს ქართლის სამეფოს წინააღმდეგ ერთ-ერთი ლაშქრობის დროს ატენის ციხეში თავშეფარებული თამარი დაატყვევა ირანის შაჰმა თამაზ I-მა და სხვა 30 ათას ტყვესთან ერთად სპარსეთში გაგზავნა. ტყვეობასა და სამარცხვინო სიცოცხლეს თამარმა სიკვდილი ამჯობინა და გზაში თავი მოიწამლა. ქართულ ისტორიოგრაფიაში თამარს ხშირად ნესტან-დარეჯანს უწოდებდნენ. ბოლო დროს უპირატესობა თამარს ეძლევა.
