The dictionary is supported by the National Library of Georgia.

The project aims at publishing the biographies of outstanding Georgians. We hope that whole Georgia will be involved in filling this unique dictionary.

სამარა – მცხეთელი მამასახლისი (აღმოსავლეთ საქართველოს მმართველი) ძვ.წ. IV-III სს. მიჯნაზე. თრაკია-მაკედონიის მეფის ლისიმაქეს დახმარებით ის ტახტიდან ჩამოაგდო არიან - ქართლის მეფის ძემ აზომ, რომელმაც ქართლი გააერთიანა, მცხეთა კი დედაქალაქად გაიხადა. სამარას შესახებ მოგვითხრობს, "ქართლის ცხოვრება" (ლეონტი მროველი).
