დაამთავრა თბილისის სახელმწიფო უნივერსიტეტი 1972 წელს.

1972 წელს დაიწყო მუშაობა საქართველოს სახელმწიფო წიგნის პალატაში რედაქტორად, წლების განმავლობაში იმუშავა უფროს რედაქტორად, სწავლულ მდივნად, სოციოლოგიის განყოფილების გამგედ.
