VI საუკუნის 30-იან წლებში იყო ქართლის კათოლოკოსი; "მოქცევაი ქართლისაის" ქრონიკისა და ჯუანშერის მიხედვით მისი კათოლიკოსობის ჟამს საქართველოში იოანე ზედაზნელის მეთაურობით მოვიდნენ ასურელი მამები, რომელთაც ევლალე I დახმარებას უწევდა; ურთიერთობა ჰქონდა ზედაზნის მონასტერთან; მხითარ აირივანეცის "ქრონოგრაფიულ ისტორიაში" მოიხსენიება როგორც ელთა.
