საქართველოს ორგზის ჩემპიონი ქართულ ჭიდაობაში; იყო მწვრთნელი-სელექციონერი, მსაჯი, ტარდებოდა მისი სახელობის ტურნირი. თავად მართავდა საკუთარი ხარჯებით ჭიდაობებს, მათ შორის აფხაზეთში შეიტანა ქართული ჭიდაობა; ჰქონდა უნიკალური "ვეფხისტყაოსნების" კოლექცია, რომელიც ივანე ჯავახიშვილს სახლ-მუზეუმს გადასცა; გადააღებინა რეჟისორ რეზო ესაძეს დოკუმენტური ფილმი ქართულ ჭიდაობაზე - "ყოველ შაბათს" 1970 წელს. მოჭიდავე.
