Towards the Genesis of Pharingalized Phonemes in the Avar-Andi-Dido Languages

Pharingalized consonants are attested in Dido prop., Hinukh and in the Inkhoqvar dialect of Khvarsh. Paringalization is characteristic feature for consonants. It is affirmed according to observation and by results of experimental research, as well.

Distribution of above mentioned consonants is free (exception is a spirant x' which is not noticable in auslaut) and they have phonemic status, which is shown by existance of minimal pairs, i. G. : Did. Prop. q'u "a plougshare" - qu "twenty"...

These and similar examples make doubthful a problem of historical existance of pharingalized phonemes in a radical language.
