On the foothills, valleys and gorges the bumble-bees nest in the holes abandoned by rodents. In the tapestry forests they nest in the hollows and roots of the trees. In the sub-alpine forests and meadows the bumble-bees nest under the flat rocks and stones. In the alpine and sub-alpine meadows the bumble-bees nest under the rocks and in the holes.
