The given article deals withe an actual problem in the system of the German language, such as co-existence of word-building construction and syntactical combination of words. There are two ways of linking words to each other. They are formal and semantic distinction. Word-building construction is one of the shades of structure in language realization next to simplex and combination. It is the system of various morpheme complex which is characterized with definite stability. Syntactical combination of words give us an opportunity to modify. In spite of these difference between them exists. Case of parallelism in word-building construction and syntactical combination of words. The use of them depends on communicative situation and the structure of a text. The article analyses both two types from the point of view of formal, structural and semantic parameters. Word-building constructions and syntactical combination of words have function of creation of text and communicative function.
