The article discusses the history of introduction interview as journalism genre in the world journalism. The history of development of interview in Georgian press is also presented. It was first launched in America in the 19^th c. and in a short period of time it spread throughout the Europe. In interviews of that period the manner of presenting materials was periphrasis. The dialogue as the manner of presenting interview was introduced in the USSR (Russia, Georgia, etc.) in early twenties of the 20^th c. In America "New World Report" introduced interview in the form of the dialogue in 1949, in Germany dialogue manner was introduced in "Spigel" in 1956.
