Word formation is found to have tight links not only with the lexics and grammar, but also with the text. Nowadays the actual problems of the German word formation are the semantics and function of the word formation means and the role of the word-formative structures in the text. The article is interesting as the attempt to reveal text-formative function of the word formation. In it there is characterized the use of word-formative constructions for the formation of special textual structures, there are also discussed the parameters of word-formative function in the text: its function as the means of text coherency and its ability to create the compression in the text.
