The Ideas of Don Quixote in Spanish Cinematograph

The phenomenon of Don Quixote is an eternal theme in Spanish culture that played essential role in movement of Spanish nation. Lots of writers, poets and philosophers devoted their studies to this phenomenon; among those were: Miguel De Unamuno, Jose Ortega I Gasset, Antonio Machado and est.

The Don Quixote theme founded it place in Spanish cinematography, on instance into creative works of well-known and scandalous director Luis Bunuel. Central heroes from his two films Nazarin and Viridiana are some kind of transformations of Cervantes' errant knight and like to initial Don Quixote they failed to reveal high ideals too. The reason of this failure could be the fact that they could not accept reality of being and human with its weaknesses.
