The Specifity of Creation and Perception of a New Sound in K. Stockhausen's Piano Work

In the II half of the 20th century the music world was enveloped in "novelty-fever". "New music" not only led to inventing new methods of organizing musical material, but also "discovered" a new musical sound of "electronic music" and "musique concrete". The new sound was considered to be a discovery of great importance, contributing to the forming of the new musical forms on one hand and to the development of the new instrumental music on the other hand.

The German composer K. Stockhausen is regarded as one of the leaders of "New music". In his piano work Stockhausen uses the wide range of new forms, "creating" at the same time the new sound of piano. Hence, his piano work presents the "New Piano Work".

The article deals with the "piano pieces" V-X. In this series of the piano pieces Stockhausen created the new piano sound and determined to a certain extant the subsequent development of this genre.
