The given work deals with the lyric poetry of the Swiss writer, thinker, theologian, politician, and in particular, with his collections: "Republican Poems", "Marginal Poems", "Graveside orations", "Neu Poems".

A man's attitude to himself, to others, to God, to nature, his human purposer struggle between life and death are the themes, that the writer calls attention of the reader by means of extremely elevated ironi and gives the latter the possibility to meditate and discuss. With his firm ideal principles, warlike, impulsive and in respect of language masterly poems he is truly regarded one of the best lyrical poets of modernity.
