The article deals with the creation and activity of the Security office of the Democratic Republic of Georgia. It is marked, that the foreign states have created on Caucasus on behalf of Armenia and Azerbaijan the satellite-states. Together with it, murders, robberies, plunder and destruction of personal and state property, larceny and gamble had become frequent. The alliance of government officials with the criminal world has become stronger.

In August, 1918 the government of the Democratic Republic Georgia has been compelled to create "Special Detachment" at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In January, 1921 on the basis of special group management of "Special Detachment" has been based.

According to the archival documents and the Georgian press of that time management of "Special Detachment" on the basis of the operative information and material evidences had arrested 513 agents, for limits of the country 8749 criminals had been sent.

"The special Detachment" accepted active participation in formation and strengthening of institutions of the local government.
