The article deals with the relations of an outstanding Georgian writer and philosopher Gr. Robakidze with Georgian cinematography. The issue has not been properly studied yet. The author of the article researches some peculiarities of Robakidze's philosophic and aesthetic way of thinking, symbolic and mythological elements of his "creative laboratory", that has affected on the semantic structure of the Georgian cinema of 20^ies of the 20^th century, namely, a popular film "Eliso" based on the Alexander Kazbegi's story.
