The Democratic Republic of Georgia as an Object of Interest of Italian Politics (1919)

Depending on the primary sources in the work is discussed the issue, that the Georgian Democratic Republic was really the object of political interest of Italy. Italy was interested in establishing mandate protectorate on Georgia, as well as in its natural resources and cooperation in trade and commerce. Georgia also was interested in close relations with Italy and in financial-economical support from it. Exchange of extraordinary missions between these two countries proved this interest. True, establishing mandate protectorate didn't pass limits of diplomatic negotiations because of different reasons, but the arrival of Italian mission in Georgia still had an importance in terms of business and politics.
