Still life – Strange Beautiful Portrayal of Protest

Nikoloz (Koka) Ignatov is one of the best representative of Georgian artists group of 60-ies, XX century. The painter spent last years of his life in Paris, where he executes easel painting series – Flowers and Still lives. The exhibition of the noted works at first was held in Munich. Due to this the painter in talking with one of the radio journalist mentioned: "That way I wanted to express protest against reality".

This beautiful series of flowers presents peculiar, variation conversion of animated nature. Live, sonorous, colored flowers are absorbed with air. They reinforce filling of beauty and eternity in visitors.

We can't pretend still lives of Ignatov as an example of still life's classical type, vise versa, they strongly express modern gust.

Beside still lives and flowers, in easel painting Ignatov executed quite long series of stones. On the cold, absorbed with air background are expressed stones of different sizes and colors. In this group more interesting is cross form composition "Seek and Find", where five different pictures are united, they are connected to each other contextually.

It is important that the painter in such subjects (I mean stones) saw beauty and could share with us what he had seen. He managed this with very modern way, although he didn't deny form and due to this he could manage to present absolute, exotic beauty.
