The article deals with the peculiarities of the charm – one of the richest strata of Georgian spiritual culture. The charm is one of the most important and ancient genres of Georgian folklore. It is present in folklore of every nation and reflects one of the conscious development stages, the study of which well demonstrates the character, nature and historical trace of every nation.

Charms preserved a lot of interesting aspects of the Georgian's world outlook from the ancient days to our time.

The article presents varied patterns of charms, and as a result of their analyses is confirmed, that many charms are concerned with pagan rites and worships, many of them under the influence of Christianity obtained dual Christian-heathen quality, and later appears a certain group of charms, which completely represent the reflection of Christianity.
