The work of famous scientist P. Butkov in the development of Russian Caucasology is outstanding. His researches are well known to the specialists who work on the problems of history and ethnology of Caucasus. Many materials which were gathered and analyzed empirically by Butkov are not published yet.

During the scientific research in the Russian State Military-Historical archive we found the document of Butkov named: "The information about the conditions of ancient historical buildings in Georgia", which was dated approximately from 1820 to no later then 1827.

We offer the above mentioned document with the according remarks.
