The article deals with the existing principles of symmetry in science. The author tells us about the wonderful and astonishing world of the beauty and harmony which is to be found in the pattern of symmetry reigning everywhere: starting from the universe, in the construction of molecules and atoms, in the ancient Egyptian architecture, in the decorative ornament, in the hidden symmetry of the words in poetry, in music from the times of Bach. Its diversity can be found in the folk round dance, in the ballroom dances, in the French and Italian ballet and in many more countries and nations of the world.
The main goal of the publication is to reveal the peculiarities of the symmetry laws and their presence in the folk Georgian dances existing since the ancient times.
This is the first time for the principle of symmetry to be analyzed, which gave an opportunity to recognize clearly the harmony and beauty in the pattern of dance movement combinations. The examples of symmetry can be seen in the ballet performances and Georgian dances such as: "Khorumi", "Davluri", and in the slow and smooth ones - "Narnari" and "Simd", as well as in the impassioned, flame-colored "Mkchedruli".
