The particular type of word creation in speech act is the formation of nonce words. The mechanisms of their formation is very complicated and multilateral. According to distinct artistic goals the writer can create his/her own words through existing models. These words are mostly connected to fictional and publicistic texts and they are called nonce words. Usually nonce words are more or less individual words. They are connected to one author or to the concrete text. In this article the issue of formation of nonce words in the German language is discussed, their peculiarities are defined too and appropriate examples are given as well.
