Kazbegi paid great attention to the vital matters of the "Mokhevians'" life though he did not make it the subject of discussion. As it seems now his main aim was to create clear imagination, characterized for ethnographic reality, of that period, to show all the traditions and habits of those people.

In the very first publicistic essay "Mokhevians" and their life" which was published by the pseudonym of A. Mochkhubaridze in the newspaper "Iveria" during the two years (1880-1882) the greatest attention was paid to the Mokhevians' religious world.
