The lexical unit xonča exists in many Georgian literary texts. It comes from Iranian word xānče, that consists from Iranian xān (big wooden plate) and diminitive suffix če (resp. baGi _ baGCa). Georgian has adopted from Iranian the form with suffix (xonča) and form wothout one (xoni) and added diterminitive Georgian suffix -a (xona).
In the Georgian defininig dictionary we have xonča as a part of comlicated words: xelxona, xonCa-tabaka. In the dialects of Georgian language we have xonCa, xoni, xona, also xoma, xomika. xoni → xona → xoma → xomika.
Xonča is a Pahlavian word and came into Georgian from contemporary Persian.
