The main factors in selecting of the phraseological units are:

• The criterion rate of the use of the phraseological units.
• The subject – matter criterion corresponding with the internal requirements of the teaching process.
• The Communicative criterion (the sphere of the usage of the phraseological units in oral and written speech).
• The Idiomatic criterion which is specific for the given language.
• The criterion of the accordance – provides for the inclusion of such phraseological units which are used in the speech and occur in different relations in the wide circle of words.
• The criterion of the functional polysemy denotes such phraseology which is mutable.
• The criterion of the elimination – implies the elimination of such phraseology which has no calque.

In selecting of the phraseological material should be stipulated also such – pedagogical factor as the specification of assimilation and presentation.
