The Dancing Elements of Easter

Easter is the main feast of spring time. It is strictly connected with the renewal and awakening of nature and rising of Lord-Christ from death. From the old times, the Georgian people held religious rituals at Easter. In the so colled Red Friday they prepare Easter eggs and on Easter Monday they visit to their dearest and nearest people' s graves.

Easter is very interesting from the choreographical point of view. At Easter people sing and dance such songs and dances that express pray and bless to our Lord. These are "Christ's dance", "Bless to the God" etc.

It is true to say that Easter celebration in Georgia does not much differs from the European one. Their carnivals are much like to our "Berikaoba".
