Announcement
A book "Shida Kartli - Architectural Heritage of the Didi and Patara Liakhvi River Gorges (Tskhinvali region)" was published in 200 under the aegis of the Department for Protecting Historical Monuments of Georgia. The book was printed by a publishing house - "ะระ". It includes the results of expdition carried out in 1981-1983.
A bulletin "Informations Intended to Be Announced" tells that the book had been prepared for press by the body of the Department. It is the result of a collective work edified by an art critic Mrs. Tsira Dadianidze, reviewed by Mr. Parmen Zakaraia and Mr. Givi Gaprindashvili, sponsored by Mr. Gia Okruashvili.
The book is dedicated to the memory of a well-known scholar Mrs. Rusudan Mepisashvili, who had been exploring the region for a number of decades.
The Georgian public has never been offered such publications before as the book is a source, a catalogue of the sites and a manual for scholars at the same time. It contains data of 226 sites and offers all the essential informations about monuments. The data are informative, concrete and professional.
The book is undoubtedly will be halpfull for further researches.
