The article presents the analysis of the theoretical aspects of taboo that is considered as component of the history of folklore. On the materials of history of syncretism the factor of continuity of the phenomenon is taken into account. The problem is examined on a joint of adjacent humanitarian sciences (ethnography, archaeology). The work determines aspects of evolution of taboo, as the phenomena based on the objective and subjective factors. The special interest is given to study and reconstruction of ritual games in the Georgian folklore.
