The corporative lexic of Turkish language

(The Turkish phraseological units containing the somatic lexeme “baş” (a head) as a first component)

The Turkish from phraseological point of wiew is a very rich language. In the article structurally and functionally are analysed phraseological units consisting of three or more elements and containing the somatik lexeme “baş”.

The indefinite (nouns without possesive suffixes) and definite (nouns with possesive suffixes) words with somatic lexeme ‘baş’ have been considered in the case-constructions. Such approach reveals each lexical elements and role of its registration; shows the phraseological units of appropriate model, which within the framework of the same model using the different lexemes act parallelly in the language and form the synonimic pairs. Thus it is possible to define the limits of the usage of the phraseological units for concrete and general situations.

The phraseological unit containing the nouns with possesive suffixes is concrete. The word combination without them get independence, give the generalizing contents to an ordinary narrative designe and grow into the independent unit - phraseologism.

This is illustrated by all the examples where the parallel (synonimic) constructions are distinguished by the feature of definite - indefinite: baş/ baş-ı

  1. baş ağrısı vermek
           başı araya girmek
  2. başının etini yemek
  3. başa baş gelmek
           başına balta kesilmek
  4. başını dik tutmak
  5. başında kavak yeli esmek
