Clause is devoted to a problem of interpretation of an episode on construction of palace and garden in "Digenes Akrites ". The question is considered on a general background of a vital road of the hero - Digenes. His feats are examined as the stages of initiation. Thus, construction of palace and garden at the bank of the river Euphrates is interpreted as creation of earthly paradise by the hero, which has reached the perfection. In this connection is emphasized, that the description of the garden in "Digenes Akrites " coincides with representations on earthly paradise (geography, landscape etc.) of the early period Byzantine writers.
