“The Martyrdom of Abo” by Ioane Sabanisdze gives a great deal of significant information about education in early feudal Georgia, particularly in the 2nd half of the 8th century. Text studying proves the existence of both, ecclesiastical and secular educational centres, between which ecclesiastical one was leading. It was realized by church-monastery schools. There also existed “Pupil Institute” where education and training were tutorial, though there are some indications to forms of group training. The whole process of education is Christian and this defines the goals and objects of it, that’s why ecclesiastical and patriotic education is practically carried out. From all the forms of education the main place belongs to the personal relation between a master and a pupil.
