The process of world globalization asks for protection of national cultures and moving forward of scientific researches. In this connection it is important to view Gareji monastic consolidation (VI-XX cc) and also to define its place amid the whole Christian culture. Archaeological investigation (Kvabebi, Natlismtsemeli...), carried out in Gareji over the last 30 years, prepared bases for reconstruction of cultural, historical and economic life of the monasteries.Although there is much to do ahead in Gareji in this field. In the process of the research, to show up different aspects of monasticism, it’s imperative:

• To extend the excavation works not only on well known monuments (for example- Kvabebi), but also on newly discovered monasteries (for example- Satorge);
• Analysis and comparison of archaeological information and its comparison with written Sources, its comparison with historical inscriptions, architecture, wall paintings as well as ethnological data;
• To study what kind of links had Gareji monasteries with East Christian region, in particular with: Holy Land, Syria, Coptic Egypt, Anatolia and Capadocia.
