The paper discusses Kvlividze's translations of the plays by the Russian playwright, Vadim Korostilev – "After Hundred Years" ("The Decabrists"), and "The Festive of Solitude" ("Phirosmani"). Both the plays belong to the range of remarkable translations.
Translator is a complete master of the Georgian language. He is brought up on the Georgian classical literature, at the same time possesses the folk language and exploits the folk expressions in the translations. Although various cases of free artificial interpretations are also numerous, but we suppose that such kind of free interpretations, based on the artistic sense, help dissolving the Russian author’s style.
