In 1926, he became a producer of the theatre and, in 1955, the main producer. From 1958, he was a creative director of Kutaisi Lado Meskhishvili Theatre. In 1924, began to teach at Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli Theatre Institute and soon became its professor. He created both tragic and comic characters with equal virtuosity. Vasadze was acknowledged as an excellent artist with the wide spectrum of creative possibilities. Akaki Vasadze was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the USSR (1936), became laureate of the USSR State Prize (1942, 1946, and 1951) and became a laureate of Shota Rustaveli State Prize (1975).
