National Library Delegation to Attend Commemorative Events to Mark the 220th Death Anniversary of David Guramishvili

Commemorative Events to Mark the 220th Death Anniversary of the great Georgian poet David Guramishvili will be held on August 4, 2012 in Mirgorod.

During the event, dedicated to life, work and memory of the poet, is planned:

  • Opening of Memorial Board ( in Georgian and Ukrainian languages ) in David Guramishvili Literary-Memorial Museum
  • Exhibition of works by Georgian photographer Shalva Londaridze
  • Civic memorial service at the tomb of the poet.
  • Concert with participation of Georgian performers at the central square of  Mirgorod at 19.00
  • "Martve", boys' ensemble of Georgian folk songs, laureate of Georgian State Award, (Tbilisi) and "Tsotne Dadiani Darbazi" choir (Zugdidi) are invited as honorable guests from Georgia.

    The event will be attended by: representatives of Georgian and Ukrainian governments, Grigol Katamadze, Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine, Giorgi Kekelidze, General Director of National Library of Georgia, Besik Shamugia, President of Georgians' association in Ukraine ''Iberieli'', Georgian and Ukrainian writers, local government representatives of  Mirgorod and Poltava Region.

    The event is organized by All-Ukrainian Public Association "Georgia", David Guramishvili Literary-Memorial Museum, and supported by The Embassy of Georgia to Ukraine and Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.
