Salome Zurabishvili Hands the Book Collection of Janri Kashia to the National Library

On 9 May, the library named after Janri Kashia opened in the sixth building of the National Library (63 Tsintsadze St.).

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze and other guests.

The collection of books handed over by Salome Surabishvili,  contains over 2000 unique editions including the literature banned during the Soviet era, self-editions, publications by Georgian emigrants, periodicals in Georgian and foreign languages, as well as private archive of Janri Kashia. The National Library will preserve the books as a separate collection.
