Georgian Corner Will Open at the National Library of Iran

Mirian Khositashvili, Deputy General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and Tamar Demetrashvili, an employee at the Oriental Studies Reading Hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia visited Tehran, Capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meetings with the Administration of the National Library of Iran were held within the framework of the visit.
 
The goal of the visit was to promote cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries. Georgian Corner will open at the National Library of Iran in the near future, where Georgian literature as well as books on the history of Georgia will be displayed. Georgian Corner will be especially important for the Georgians living in Fereidan who still speak their mother tongue and are interested in Georgian literature and the history of Georgia. Reciprocally, Iranian Corner will open at the National Library of Georgia.
 
According to the agreement between the parties, employees of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia will improve their qualification in the field of book restoration in Iran; Georgian studies on Iran and Iranian studies on Georgia will be exchanged, and collections supplemented.
