A new database has been posted at the National Library website (http://www.nplg.gov.ge/ilia/ka/). The database contains information about the members of the Society for Dissemination of Literacy among Georgians from its inception to its liquidation (1879-1927).
The General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, Giorgi Kekelidze, and the head of Kartvelology Devision, Zhana Qvatadze, and other representatives of the National Library donated over 1000 books to the school libraries of villages Chrebalo and Chorjo. The local children were presented toys by Toy Bank.
The National Library opened its small branch at Tbilisi Zoo: a box full of books was placed at the Zoo, where the zoo visitors can take two books and bring one in return or read the book taken from the chest and put it back later.
On 13 October, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and Georgian-American Association “Kvali” by Giorgi Kekelidze, General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, and Shota Vashakidze, President of the Association “Kvali”.
