NGO “Positive” launches the literary competition “Kalami” for convicts. The project is organized by the Department of Corrections and the National Library. The competition is aimed at the self realization of convicts and their integration in society.
The National Library users will have access to the world's broadest multidisciplinary e-books provider "Wiley Online Books" service for one month until 17 August, 100 e-books are available to the National Library users.
Irina Samsonia, expert at Georgian Language and Literature, employee of the National Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, donated to the National Library modern literature, more than 20 copies of books in theology and Christian teaching.
Azerbaijan corner will open at the Oriental Studies Reading Hall on 11 July 2013, at 11:00. The project is implemented on the initiative of the National Library and organization “Dialog and Development Foundation”.
Giorgi Kekelidze, General Director of the National Library, will lead the National Library Board of Directors. In the near future, the renewed Board of Directors will hold the first meeting and discuss important and problematic issues.
The enlarged budget gives the National Library opportunity to join integrated library system introduced in America in 2014. The National Library catalogs, as well as ones of other libraries and museums will be integrated in single general database.
On 9 July, Robert Linkous, Georgia Today Correspondent, donated more than 50 modern books and journals to the National Library Anglo-American Reading Hall. The National Library expresses its gratitude to Mr. Linkous.
Show of the film titled ‘The Way to the Kingdom of Heaven’ will be held at the Auditorium of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia on 9 July 2013, at 14:00. The aim of the show is to save the life of a seven-year-old Giorgi who needs a bone marrow transplant.
