On 12 October, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and the International Foundation Lea. The agreement aims at deepening of Georgian-Jewish relationship.
On 1 October, the mayor of Châteauneuf Mr. Emanuel Delmotte visited the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. The guest met with the General Director of the National Library, Giorgi Kekelidze, and representatives of the library administration. Georgian businessmen were also present at the meeting where the future cooperation was discussed.
The National Library arranges a multifunctional library in the Public Service Centre in the village of Duisi, Pankisi Gorge. Book collections will be made accessible to users and the library will be equipped with computers. Once a week the children will have the opportunity to meet with interesting people.
On 8 September, Ms. Irina Topuria handed to the National Parliamentary Library the collection of unique and rare editions belonging to the Professor Alexander Gvakharia and his wife, a linguist Tsira Kaladze.
On 19 June, at the award ceremony of the Faces & Names and of the year 2015, Giorgi Kekelidze, the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, was awarded The Project of the Year Prize for his novel “Gurian Diaries” and the project “Digital Photo Narrative” (joint project of the National Library and company Geocell).
