Within the framework of the project “Georgian Book Abroad” the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia donated books to the library of Saint George Georgian School Library in Athens, which is to open very soon.
On 4 September, international conference “Georgian Language and Modern Technologies-2013” opened at the National Library. The event was organized by Arnold Chikobava Institute of Linguistics, Ivane Javakhishvili State University, National Library and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
On 1 August, within the framework of the Georgian Civil Society National Platform for the Eastern Partnership and, on the initiative of "International Foundation for Sustainable Development", the meeting with Gia Dvali was held at the Conference Hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.
NGO “Positive” launches the literary competition “Kalami” for convicts. The project is organized by the Department of Corrections and the National Library. The competition is aimed at the self realization of convicts and their integration in society.
The National Library users will have access to the world's broadest multidisciplinary e-books provider "Wiley Online Books" service for one month until 17 August, 100 e-books are available to the National Library users.
Irina Samsonia, expert at Georgian Language and Literature, employee of the National Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, donated to the National Library modern literature, more than 20 copies of books in theology and Christian teaching.
