On 14 April, the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, and the General Director of the National Library, Giorgi Kekelidze, opened an exhibition dedicated to the Day of Mother Language at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.
On 7 April, at 14:00, Giorgi Kekelidze, the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, and David Kbilashvili, Regional Director Caucasus at Cambridge Study Tbilisi Office, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
“The main goal of the National Library is to contribute to increasing level of literacy in our country. The National Library arranges different events and actions in this direction. The present contest is one of them”, Giorgi Kekelidze, General Director of the National Library.
The General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, Giorgi Keklidze, and the Head of the National Parliamentary Division of Public Relations and Cultural Programs, Giorgi Sabanadze, together with Nina Maziashvili, met with representatives of local authorities in Calabria and discusses the plans for future cooperation.
The presentation of a new poetry collection “Poetry 2008-2013” by Giorgi Kekelidze will be held at the Writer’s House (I. Machabeli St. 13) on 26 March, at 19:00. Laureate of the premiums Saba (for compilation “The Odes”, 2009), Gold Feather and Mushvig International Premium, founder of the first Georgian digital library lib.ge (2006-2012), the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia (2012-).
National Parliamentary Library starts the nomination for Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Every year the National Library nominates 2 candidates for Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. The (ALMA) is the world's largest prize for children's and young adult literature. The award, which amounts to SEK 5 million (approx 750 USD/525 000 EUR), is awarded annually to one or more recipients.
