Unique Murals by Henryk Hryniewski to be Restored at the National Library

The Memorandum of Understanding between the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and Academy of Fine Arts of Warsaw will be signed by Giorgi Kekelidze, General Director of the National Library, and Kshishtof Khmelewski, Professor at Restoration and Conservation Faculty of the Academy, on 22 May at 13:00

The event will be attended by Mr. Jacek Miller, Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Abroad and Wartime Losses at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, Mr. Mariusz Maszkiewicz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Georgia, representatives of the National Library and the Embassy of Poland in Georgia.

According to the MOU, the polish side will take part in the restoration of unique murals in the National Library first building.

It is known that the first building of the National Library is a monument of cultural heritage where the murals are made by Polish painter Henryk Hryniewski.  

The parties agree to cooperate on joint art, education and research programs, symposia, congress, seminars, courses, etc. They also exchange professional literature, textbooks and other publications.
