დაამთავრა პეტერბურგის სამხედრო სამედიცინო აკადემია 1904 წელს.

ათეული წლების განმავლობაში ეწეოდა პედაგოგიურ მოღვაწეობას; 1919-1937წწ. იყო ლენინგრადის სამხედრო სამედიცინო აკადემიის ზოგადქირურგიის კათედრის უფროსი; 1937-1957წწ. ამავე აკადემიის ჰოსპიტალური ქირურგიის კათედრის უფროსი; 1932 წლიდან ლენინგრადის ტრავმატოლოგიისა და ორთოპედიის ინსტიტუტის სამეცნიერო ხელმძღვანელი; 1941-1945წწ. საბჭოთა არმიის მთავარი  ქირურგის მოადგილე; იყო II მსოფლიო ომის მონაწილე; სამხედრო ქირურგი.
