დაამთავრა თბილისის სახელმწიფო სამედიცინო ინსტიტუტის სამკურნალო ფაკულტეტი 1978 წელს.

1990 წლიდან ტუბერკულოზთან ბრძოლის ფონდის ვიცე-პრეზიდენტი; 1991 წლიდან ბავშვთა რეაბილიტაციის ფონდ "ქაჯანას" პრეზიდენტი; 1993 წლიდან სახალხო მოძრაობის "ერთობა და კეთილდღეობა" ბავშვთა პრობლემების კომისიის ხელმძღვანელი; 1996 წლიდან "სოციალურ და ჰუმანიტარულ ინიციატივათა ცენტრის" ხელმძღვანელი.
