Drogan’s yellow

Among foreign sorts of sweet of cherries Drogan’s yellow is the most commonly grown in the districts of Georgia. Especially often it is met in Easten Georgia and here in the district of Gori, where its colourless fruits are greatly in demand for jam and compote.

'The tree' of Drogan’s yellow is a heavy producer.

'The cherries' are large, do not stand shipping at far distances, getting easity spolted. Crop begins to ripen after the ist of Juni, in some localities arriving to the market as early as by the end of Juni.

It is a sort of the late period of ripening, giving valuable fruits for compote and jam.

Drogan yellow is not well adapted for the environment of 'Western Georgia', as under conditions of high humidity fruits crack on the tree nd are much attacted by the larvae of the cherry fly.
